What is in the fuel system?

The fuel system draws fuel from the tank, filters and pressurizes it, and sprays it into the cylinders. This category includes fuel transfer pump groups, priming pumps, injector nozzles and fuel valve nozzles.

Selection and care

Injection parts work to very tight tolerances, so the engine model and serial number, ideally from the engine plate, are needed for a correct match. Search by part number or narrow by engine with the Part finder; for several items use Paste a parts list.

Most fuel system failures start with dirty or water-contaminated fuel. Changing fuel filters on time and draining the water separator regularly is the most effective protection for injectors and pumps. Remember that air must be bled from the system after it has been opened.
